Ok, so Brook MacDonald is heading back to Mondraker, Danny Hart is off to Saracen and Nukeproof are leaving Downhill racing to concentrate on enduro. Big news.
But what you REALLY want to know is where I’m headed off to next don’t you?!
Wife? Daughter? Mum?…cat?
You all care right?…
Well, for anyone who cares, and even for those that don’t, I’m saying goodbye to the Southwest Syndicate team (Velo-Smith and RSF Suspension Specialists) and hooking up with my local bike shop, Unit Cycles.
It was great riding with the Syndicate last year in it’s first year and I’ll still be regularly hooking up for rides with Lawrence and Nick in the future. I’m hugely grateful for the support Velo-Smith and RSF Suspension gave me last year so a massive thanks to both and I wish them well this year and beyond.
Unit Cycles are based on the edge of Truro and run by a couple of local riders (Ant and Sam) who have been in the business for a number of years. They’re dealers for Santa Cruz, Orbea, Nukeproof, Focus, Hope and Stanton Bikes amongst others and the team has a great local and regional race presence in XC, DH and enduro.
For me, I know Sam and Ant quite well and being local Orbea dealers, with me riding an Orbea Rallon for a while, means there’s a great connection there . I’ve got big eyes for the new carbon Rallon so looking forward to seeing one in the flesh at the shop and hopefully getting a demo on one at some point too!
So, excited to be on board with a great LBS and looking forward to rocking the purple and black at races this year!
